About the role
We are seeking a dynamic Physical Education Teacher to deliver engaging PE lessons to students in Years 7‑11 at our Westlands campus in Nairobi. The role involves fostering fitness, teamwork and healthy lifestyles while supporting the school’s sporting programmes.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver Physical Education lessons aligned with the curriculum for Years 7‑11.
- Develop students’ fitness, motor skills, teamwork and healthy lifestyle habits.
- Design inclusive practical sessions for varied abilities and interests.
- Prepare and administer assessments to track physical development and skill acquisition.
- Maintain a safe, inclusive environment that promotes sportsmanship.
- Organise and support extracurricular sports, school teams, clubs and inter‑school competitions.
- Identify and nurture talented athletes, providing appropriate coaching and training.
- Keep accurate records of attendance, participation and performance.
- Collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary projects and school‑wide sporting events.
- Promote the importance of fitness, wellbeing, leadership and healthy living.
Required profile
- Registration with Kenya’s Teachers Service Commission (TSC).
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Physical Education, Sports Science or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years of teaching experience within an international curriculum.
- Proven experience teaching Physical Education to Year 7‑11 students.
- Strong knowledge of PE curriculum, assessment and instructional practices.
- Excellent classroom and student management abilities.
- Effective coaching and sports development skills.
- Ability to organise and coordinate extracurricular sporting activities and competitions.
- Cultural sensitivity and ability to work in a diverse international school environment.
