Planning & Monitoring Specialist – Nairobi

About the role

The Planning & Monitoring Specialist will support UNICEF Kenya’s programme delivery by ensuring robust monitoring, data analysis and results‑based management. This full‑time position is based in Westlands, Nairobi and reports to the senior programme manager.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain monitoring and evaluation frameworks for programme activities.
• Collect, validate and analyse quantitative and qualitative data to produce timely performance reports.
• Coordinate with field teams to ensure data systems are used consistently and accurately.
• Prepare and edit analytical briefs, progress updates and donor reports.
• Support results‑based management processes, including target setting, indicator tracking and impact assessment.

Required profile

• Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Education, Social Sciences, Statistics, Economics, Public Administration, Information Management, Monitoring & Evaluation or a related field.
• Minimum five years of professional experience in monitoring and evaluation, data analytics, programme coordination or results‑based management.
• Fluency in English (written and spoken) is mandatory.

• Excellent writing and editing capabilities for technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Ability to synthesise complex information and present clear recommendations.
