Procurement Officer – Healthcare Facility

About the role

The Procurement Officer will support Ndonyo Healthcare’s Kwa Muhia branch by ensuring the timely acquisition of goods and services that meet quality standards while optimizing cost. This role reports to the supervisor and works closely with user departments to fulfill their purchasing needs.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and verify requisition notes from user departments for accuracy and validity.
• Prepare and review the procurement budget in line with hospital policies.
• Determine appropriate procurement methods (quotation, tender, RFP) based on request analysis.
• Assist departments in drafting clear specifications for quotations, tenders, and supply agreements.
• Analyze bids, select the most suitable supplier, and ensure compliance with procurement policies.
• Coordinate with suppliers on delivery, quality, and sample testing.
• Contribute to the development of purchasing procedures and periodic reporting.
• Conduct audits and identify high‑usage items for potential pricing agreements.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Supply Chain Management or related field.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Good knowledge of Kenyan public procurement laws (Public Procurement and Disposal Act, 2005).
• Strong analytical and data‑evaluation skills.
• Experience preparing and managing budgets.
• CIPS or KISM certification preferred.
