Production Manager – Nairobi

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Production Manager to lead our manufacturing operations in Nairobi’s Westlands district. The role will ensure production aligns with the company’s strategic goals, delivering quality products on time and within cost targets.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement production strategies that support overall business objectives, focusing on price, quality and delivery.
• Identify and mitigate production challenges, driving risk reduction and opportunity creation.
• Lead continuous‑improvement initiatives, applying lean principles to optimise cost performance and waste reduction.
• Coordinate capital investment programmes, manage working capital, and oversee plant maintenance to ensure safety and compliance.
• Provide early‑stage assembly design input for new model introductions and support cross‑functional project teams.
• Ensure adherence to Environmental, Health & Safety, manufacturing and quality standards.
• Coach, mentor and develop direct reports, fostering a high‑performing team focused on cost reductions and added value.
• Set and monitor Balanced Scorecard objectives, prepare annual production budgets, forecasts and capital expenditure proposals.
• Report production KPIs regularly to senior management and contribute to new business initiatives.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of experience in manufacturing or production management.
• Proven track record of leading large teams and delivering continuous‑improvement results.
• Strong analytical and budgeting skills with experience in capital project management.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing, EHS standards and quality systems.
