Program Officer – Policy and Advocacy

About the role

The Eastern Africa Farmers Federation (EAFF) is seeking a dynamic Program Officer to lead its Policy and Advocacy department. Based in Nairobi, you will shape the federation’s strategic agenda, support member organisations and represent EAFF on regional and international platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement EAFF’s policy and advocacy master plan.
• Build the capacity of member organisations in policy analysis, advocacy and stakeholder engagement.
• Design, implement and monitor programmes and projects related to policy and advocacy.
• Represent EAFF at regional, continental and international policy events.
• Contribute to fundraising by identifying and developing new projects and programmes.
• Undertake additional tasks as assigned by the Chief Executive Officer.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Agriculture, Agricultural Economics, Public Policy, Development Studies, Political Science or a related field.
• Minimum five years of experience in policy analysis, advocacy and policy‑related programme management.
• Strong understanding of agricultural policy frameworks and farmer‑organisation dynamics.
• Experience working with government institutions and multi‑stakeholder platforms.
• Proven ability to produce high‑quality policy briefs and reports.
• Preference for candidates with NGO experience.
• Based in Nairobi.
