R&D Lab Analyst Internship

About the role

Burn is seeking a highly analytical R&D Lab Analyst Intern to join its Research & Development team. The intern will support product testing, data analysis, and laboratory operations for current and future cookstove products, ensuring rigorous evaluation and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct laboratory tests on existing Burn products, R&D pipeline items, competitor products, and new cookstove fuel performance.
• Document test procedures, record results, and perform data analysis.
• Assist with field data collection and product monitoring activities.
• Manage datasets of test results and maintain organized records.
• Support the maintenance and refinement of testing methodologies, safety protocols, and standard operating procedures.
• Ensure strict adherence to safety guidelines and 5S principles, keeping the lab clean and orderly.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and track inventory of supplies.
• Help prepare stove demonstrations and perform other ad‑hoc tasks as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physical Science, or a related field.
• Experience working in a laboratory testing environment.
• Proven ability to manage data and generate reports using Excel.
• Strong continuous‑improvement mindset and proactive problem‑solving attitude.
• Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Highly organized, punctual, and professional.
