Regional Sales Director, Africa

About the role

The Regional Sales Director, Africa will own the commercial strategy for GMS across African markets, driving revenue growth with Mobile Network Operators (MNOs). This hands‑on leadership position requires strong relationships in the African MNO ecosystem and fluency in both French and English.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the go‑to‑market and sales strategy for the African region.
• Identify, develop and close new business opportunities with MNOs and telecom partners.
• Build and maintain senior‑level relationships with English‑ and French‑speaking operators.
• Develop joint commercial plans and manage the regional revenue budget, targets and forecasting.
• Grow existing accounts by introducing new services, commercial models and strategic partnerships.
• Lead negotiations, presentations and workshops for new projects.
• Collaborate with product, technical, legal, finance and operations teams throughout the sales cycle.
• Monitor traffic, revenue, margins, pricing and market trends to uncover growth opportunities.
• Represent GMS at industry events and expand the company’s commercial presence across Africa.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years of B2B sales or business development experience in African telecommunications.
• Proven track record selling to Mobile Network Operators.
• Professional proficiency in French and English.
• Strong network of senior commercial and technical contacts within the African MNO ecosystem.
