Regional Sales Manager – FMCG

About the role

The Regional Sales Manager – FMCG will lead sales activities across Western Kenya, driving growth for our food product portfolio and ensuring high standards of trade execution.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure effective trade and outlet execution according to QDVPPP standards.
• Drive promotional activities and other trade initiatives.
• Monitor competitor activity and provide timely market intelligence.
• Maintain compliance with approved pricing structures and merchandising standards.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with retail partners and develop route plans for Trade Development Representatives.
• Acquire new outlets, ensure effective route coverage and execution by field teams.
• Achieve daily, weekly and monthly sales targets and allocate resources for optimal ROI.
• Manage distributor performance, purchase plans, and financial health.
• Optimize inventory levels across all distributor locations.
• Provide leadership, coaching and training to Area Sales Team Leaders, TDRs and Distributor Sales Representatives.
• Oversee distributor accounts receivable.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Management or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in regional sales management within the FMCG food industry, specifically in Western Kenya.
• Proven experience managing distributors and sales teams.
• Strong analytical abilities and market intelligence skills.
• Ability to develop and execute route plans, promotional strategies and inventory optimization.
