About the role
The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a Regional Staff Counsellor to provide professional psychological support and welfare services to staff across its Regional Office and Country Offices in the region. This position is based in Nairobi, Kenya, and reports to senior staff welfare leadership.
Key responsibilities
- Implement staff welfare activities aimed at assessing and addressing the psychological needs of IOM staff.
- Provide counseling, crisis intervention, and mental health guidance to employees in the Regional Office and affiliated Country Offices.
- Collaborate with the Chief Staff Welfare Officer, the Director of Staff Health and Welfare Division, and the Senior Regional Resources Management Officer to ensure coordinated welfare initiatives.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional ethical standards in all counseling interactions.
Required profile
- Master's degree in clinical psychology, counselling, psychiatry or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Minimum five years of relevant professional experience in counseling, mental health, or staff welfare.
- Demonstrated ability to work in multicultural, international environments.
