Registered Nurse – Clinical Triage & Patient Care

About the role

Kakenya’s Dream is seeking a dedicated Nurse to join the KHWC clinic in Isampin, Transmara West. The role involves receiving patients, reviewing medical records, taking vital signs, and performing an initial assessment to determine the appropriate level of care.

Key responsibilities

• Perform triage duties, accurately record vital signs, and refer patients for further treatment.
• Receive and assess patients, prioritising severely sick or injured individuals.
• Maintain up‑to‑date patient files while ensuring confidentiality.
• Ensure emergency trays and medical supplies are stocked and functional.
• Deliver maternal‑child health (MCH) and youth‑friendly services.
• Prepare and submit periodic medical reports as required.
• Maintain cleanliness and infection‑control standards in the triage area.
• Report clinical and non‑clinical incidents to supervisors.
• Manage resource use, document consumables for billing and stock control.
• Care for equipment, perform inventory checks, and report non‑functional items.
• Develop written care plans, monitor interventions, and participate in continuous medical education.
• Administer medication safely and monitor patient responses.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse with a valid Kenyan nursing license.
• Experience in triage, patient assessment, and primary healthcare settings.
• Ability to handle confidential patient information responsibly.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Willingness to work in a community‑focused clinic environment.
