Senior Accountant (Nairobi)

About the role

Mareva Beauty Company is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to lead its accounting function in Nairobi. You will ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance with Kenyan regulations and IFRS, and provide insights that support strategic decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and analyse monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
• Supervise accounting staff, review journal entries, reconciliations and ledger maintenance.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, KRA statutory requirements (VAT, PAYE, NHIF, NSSF).
• Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes.
• Develop and monitor budgets, forecasts and variance analyses.
• Support external audits and liaise with auditors and regulatory bodies.
• Improve financial controls, processes and systems for efficiency and accuracy.
• Provide financial insights to senior management for strategic decision‑making.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• CPA (K) or ACCA qualification.
• Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a senior role.
• Strong analytical, communication and leadership abilities.
• High level of integrity and attention to detail.
