Senior Associate – Employment & Labour Law / Dispute Resolution

About the role

Our client, a leading law firm in Kenya, is seeking an experienced and technically strong Senior Associate – Employment & Labour Law / Dispute Resolution to join its growing practice.

Key responsibilities

• Manage employment and labour law matters, including advisory, litigation and dispute resolution assignments from inception to conclusion.
• Advise clients on workplace matters such as investigations, disciplinary and grievance processes, organisational changes and related compliance issues.
• Represent clients before courts, tribunals and other dispute resolution forums.
• Draft and review pleadings, legal opinions, contracts, policies, manuals, memoranda of understanding and other legal documentation.
• Maintain client relationships and deliver timely, practical, commercially sound legal advice.
• Supervise junior team members, manage matter timelines and billing, and contribute to business development and practice growth.

Required profile

• Advocate of the High Court of Kenya in good standing.
• Minimum of 5 years post‑qualification experience, preferably in a reputable mid‑tier or top‑tier law firm.
• Strong experience in Employment & Labour Law and/or Dispute Resolution, including workplace investigations.
• Excellent advocacy, legal drafting, analytical, research and communication skills with the ability to manage complex matters independently.
• Demonstrated client management and team supervision experience, with meticulous attention to detail.
• Sound commercial judgement and a practical approach to legal work; additional experience in commercial, regulatory or advisory matters is an advantage.
