Senior Copywriter – Brand Voice & Editorial Lead

About the role

BETIKA is seeking a senior‑level Contents Specialist to own and evolve its brand voice across seven African markets. The role combines strategic copy development, editorial oversight, and close collaboration with creative teams to ensure a consistent and compelling brand narrative.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, document and maintain BETIKA’s brand voice guidelines for all markets, adapting them for local language nuances such as Sheng/Swanglish.
• Act as the final editorial authority, reviewing and signing off all brand communications to guarantee voice consistency.
• Lead the creation of copy systems for promotional and brand‑building campaigns across digital, social, OOH, broadcast and experiential channels.
• Write high‑impact scripts, headlines, taglines, body copy and calls‑to‑action for major events including Bingwafest and Premier League activations.
• Partner with regional creative leads to produce market‑specific copy that remains aligned with the global brand voice.
• Drive internal communications copy, including newsletters, leadership announcements and HR materials.

Required profile

• Senior‑level copywriter with at least 48 months of relevant experience.
• Proven ability to define and enforce brand voice guidelines across multiple markets.
• Strong editorial judgment and experience leading cross‑functional creative teams.
• Excellent written communication skills in English and familiarity with local language variations in East Africa.
