Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer – Mobility Tech

About the role

Our client is building electric motorcycles and a digital platform that powers battery swaps, mobile payments, fleet analytics and AI‑driven services across East Africa. As a Senior Full‑Stack Software Engineer you will lead the design, development and scaling of the core systems that enable this mobility ecosystem.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design, development and deployment of full‑stack applications and micro‑frontends.
• Architect and scale high‑load backend services using Python, Django and FastAPI.
• Build responsive user interfaces with React JS.
• Implement and optimise data platforms, including PostgreSQL/TimescaleDB and ETL pipelines.
• Integrate AI/ML functionalities and crypto components into the product.
• Mentor a small engineering team, conduct code reviews and promote best practices.
• Manage deployment pipelines using Docker, CI/CD, AWS and Kubernetes.

Required profile

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• At least 2 years in a technical leadership role, handling task decomposition, planning and stakeholder communication.
• Strong background in building scalable, data‑intensive systems.

Required skills

• Python 3, Django, FastAPI.
• React JS (and optionally React Native).
• PostgreSQL / TimescaleDB and SQL.
• Celery, RabbitMQ, SQS or Kafka for asynchronous processing.
• AWS services, Docker, CI/CD, Kubernetes.
• Infrastructure as code with Terraform.
