Senior Learning & Development Officer

About the role

The Senior Learning & Development Officer will lead the design, implementation and evaluation of learning initiatives for a youth skilling and employment impact project in Kenya. The role focuses on improving employability for young women, refugees and persons with disabilities through inclusive training programs.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive learning strategy aligned with project objectives and target outcomes.
• Design, produce and oversee instructional materials, curricula and e‑learning modules that are culturally appropriate and accessible.
• Coordinate training schedules, manage trainer recruitment, onboarding and capacity‑building across the country.
• Lead “Train the Trainer” sessions, LMS coordination and delivery of workshops, webinars and hands‑on training.
• Monitor and report on training KPIs, evaluate effectiveness and incorporate feedback for continuous improvement.

Required profile

• 4‑6 years of experience managing learning and development activities, preferably in youth skilling or workforce development.
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Education, Organizational Development or related field; Master’s degree or certifications are a plus.
• Proven experience creating engaging learning content for diverse youth groups, including women and persons with disabilities.
• Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills with internal teams and external partners.
