Social Care Worker – Residential Care Home

About the role

The Social Care Worker will support older adults living in a residential care home, providing both day and overnight care. You will join a dynamic team of three staff members, helping vulnerable adults maintain independence and wellbeing.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver personal care and support in line with care plans.
• Administer medication as prescribed.
• Act as a key worker, coordinating re‑ablement plans for service users.
• Contribute to planning, monitoring and recording of service delivery.
• Lead shifts and assume temporary overall responsibility for the care home when required.

Required profile

• Minimum SVQ Level 2 in Social Care (or equivalent) – required for registration with SSSC.
• Commitment to achieve SVQ Level 3 in Social Care.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills and the capacity to respond constructively to unpredictable situations.
• Resilience under pressure and a proactive attitude.
