Software Engineer

About the role

IBM Research is looking for a versatile Software Engineer to design, develop, test and deliver software solutions that support cutting‑edge research in AI, quantum computing, high‑performance computing and cloud. You will work in an Agile, collaborative environment alongside scientists and engineers, turning innovative ideas into production‑ready components.

Key responsibilities

• Design, code and unit‑test component‑level back‑end software using leading‑edge or proven technologies.
• Collaborate with stakeholders in Agile sprints to gather requirements and deliver functional solutions.
• Investigate and resolve customer‑reported issues by developing and testing code fixes.
• Contribute to the creation and maintenance of automated CI/CD pipelines that enforce quality gates.
• Participate in testing and delivery of software offerings, ensuring readiness for integration.

Required profile

• Experience with back‑end development and component‑level software design.
• Solid understanding of Agile principles and ability to work in a collaborative team.
• Proven debugging and troubleshooting skills for customer‑facing problems.
• Familiarity with CI/CD concepts and pipeline automation.
