Special Education Autism Specialist Tutor

About the role

Prep Academy Tutors is seeking a compassionate and experienced Special Education Autism Specialist Tutor to provide one‑on‑one academic support for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder in Simcoe and Grey County. This flexible position focuses on personalized instruction that builds confidence, independence, and academic success.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver individualized academic support tailored to each student’s ASD profile.
• Adapt teaching methods, materials, and pacing to meet unique learning needs.
• Support emotional regulation, executive functioning, communication, and social development as appropriate.
• Collaborate with families, the Prep Academy team, and Registered Behaviour Analysts to monitor progress.
• Create structured, engaging, and supportive learning experiences.

Required profile

• Background in Special Education, Autism & Behavioural Science, Psychology, Child & Youth Work, Occupational Therapy, Speech‑Language Pathology, or related fields.
• Experience working with children or youth with ASD in educational or therapeutic settings.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patient, adaptable, and student‑centered approach.
• Teaching certification is an asset but not mandatory.
• Reliable transportation within Simcoe & Grey County.
