PE Teacher & Sports Coordinator – Full/Part Time

About the role

The PE Teacher and Sports Coordinator will lead physical education and sports programming at Sankore International School, a new mission‑driven school in Nairobi. Reporting to the Head of Teaching and Learning, the role blends classroom teaching with the development of a broader extracurricular sports programme.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, inclusive PE lessons for early years through primary students.
• Develop fundamental movement skills, coordination, balance, strength, agility and confidence.
• Introduce age‑appropriate games, team sports, individual challenges and fitness activities.
• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse physical, developmental, language, sensory and learning needs.
• Build a positive culture where all students can participate, improve and enjoy movement.
• Design and grow the school’s sports programme, creating pathways from PE lessons to clubs, teams, fixtures and competitions.
• Coordinate after‑school sports clubs, manage external vendors and develop partnerships with other schools.
• Ensure safeguarding standards are applied consistently in all activities.

Required profile

• Commitment to inclusive physical education and safe participation for all children.
• Understanding of child protection and school safeguarding policies.
• Ability to design age‑appropriate, differentiated PE curricula.
• Strong organisational skills to manage sports clubs, competitions and external partners.
