Specialist Process Engineer

About the role

The Specialist Process Engineer is responsible for the integrity, governance and operational effectiveness of enterprise process content across Absa. Working as a recognised subject‑matter expert, you will define and enforce process‑modelling standards, manage the end‑to‑end publishing lifecycle and build sustainable capability in the use of process‑architecture platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the authority on process‑modelling quality, metadata integrity and publication governance across OrbusInfinity, SharePoint and related repositories.
• Define, enforce and continuously improve quality‑assurance controls for modelling, review, publishing and unpublishing.
• Exercise professional judgement to determine readiness of process artefacts for publication or removal, balancing speed with governance, risk and audit requirements.
• Own specialist oversight of data accuracy, completeness and consistency within enterprise process repositories, including remediation of legacy content.
• Identify systemic quality, governance and control weaknesses and design preventative measures to mitigate operational, compliance and audit risk.
• Ensure alignment between modelling tools, publication sites and supporting metadata to maintain a trusted single‑source‑of‑truth.
• Design and deliver coaching, training and support for business‑unit modellers and Quality Reviewers.
• Develop authoritative guidance, standards and support aids to reduce dependency on central teams.
• Mentor Quality Reviewers and key stakeholders, addressing capability gaps and reinforcing accountability.
• Lead the design, maintenance and optimisation of publishing and unpublishing workflows, collaborating with engineering teams on automated governance controls.

Required profile

• Proven expertise in enterprise process modelling, governance and quality assurance.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to assess risk, compliance and audit implications.
• High degree of autonomy and influence over platform design and control frameworks.
• Excellent communication skills to coach, mentor and influence stakeholders across the organisation.
• Experience driving continuous improvement and capability development at scale.
