US Freight & Long-Haul Truck Dispatcher (Nairobi)

About the role

We are looking for a high‑energy US Freight & Long‑Haul Truck Dispatcher based in Nairobi to manage end‑to‑end logistics for long‑haul drivers serving the United States. You will source high‑yielding loads, negotiate rate confirmations with US brokers, keep drivers moving efficiently, and track shipments during US business hours.

Key responsibilities

• Search US load boards (DAT One, Truckstop) to source, negotiate and book high‑RPM loads for Dry Van, Reefer or Flatbed equipment.
• Issue dispatch instructions, plan optimal routes, monitor Hours of Service via ELDs and resolve on‑road delays.
• Maintain relationships with US freight brokers, perform check‑calls and negotiate detention, layover or TONU pay.
• Verify rate confirmations, stamped Bills of Lading and Proof of Delivery documents.
• Enter all load data accurately into the Transportation Management System.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year of hands‑on experience or knowledge dispatching US long‑haul (OTR) freight.
• Familiarity with DAT One and Truckstop.com load boards.
• Strong understanding of US geography, major freight corridors, DOT/FMCSA rules and HOS compliance.
• Flawless spoken and written English with confidence negotiating directly with US brokers.
• Full availability for the 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM EAT night shift.
• Proficiency with TMS platforms (Rose Rocket, McLeod, Samsara) and spreadsheets (Google Sheets, Microsoft Excel).
