Vehicle Condition Inspector

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic Vehicle Condition Inspector to join ACV Auctions. The inspector will be the face of the company, providing accurate vehicle assessments and ensuring a transparent experience for our clients.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles at dealerships, auctions and off‑lease locations to identify damage, missing parts and mechanical issues.
• Prepare detailed condition reports, including repair or replacement cost estimates and photographic documentation.
• Collaborate with Territory Managers and sales teams to support up‑selling and cross‑selling of services.
• Maintain regular communication with dealers, building strong relationships and ensuring client satisfaction.
• Travel to various sites, capture multiple photos, upload them to the image server, and list inspected vehicles on the ACV Auctions platform.
• Onboard independent dealerships to use the digital auction platform.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year experience in the automobile field (body, paint, or mechanical repair) with a customer‑service background.
• Ability to work outdoors for extended periods and perform manual labor (standing, lifting ≥ 25 lb, bending, squatting).
• Valid driver’s licence, insured vehicle and ability to operate both manual and automatic transmissions.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently while contributing to a team.
• Fluent in English (read, write, speak) and good visual acuity for detecting small defects.
