Visual Merchandising Manager (Travel Required)

About the role

The Visual Merchandising Manager will lead the development and implementation of visual standards across multiple African markets. This role combines strategic planning with hands‑on execution to ensure brand consistency, drive sales, and enhance the customer experience in all stores.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and roll out regional visual merchandising standards, seasonal campaigns, and promotional executions.
• Partner with Store Development, Design, and Operations to align visual merchandising with new store openings, refurbishments, and relocations.
• Translate marketing and product launch strategies into high‑impact in‑store displays.
• Conduct regular store audits and on‑site visits to ensure compliance, identify improvements, and coach teams.
• Optimise space and layout to improve turnover per square metre and customer flow.
• Monitor local retail trends and competitor activity to maintain brand relevance.
• Manage visual merchandising budget, display materials, and vendor relationships.
• Lead hands‑on training and capability development sessions during regional visits.

Required profile

• Willing and able to travel extensively across multiple African countries.
• Diploma or degree in Visual Merchandising, Retail Design, Marketing, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of retail visual merchandising experience, with at least 3 years in a regional or leadership role.
• Proven track record of driving sales through visual merchandising in a multi‑store, multi‑market environment.
• Strong cross‑functional collaboration, project management, and stakeholder management skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with planogram tools.
• Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (advantage).
