WASH Specialist – Emergency Response (P-4, 364‑day contract)

About the role
The WASH Specialist (P-4) will support UNICEF’s Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) programmes in emergencies, focusing on cholera and other public health emergencies (PHE). The position is fully remote and lasts for 364 days, providing strategic and technical assistance at both global and field levels.
Key responsibilities
- Provide expertise on cholera and other PHEs to strengthen UNICEF’s emergency WASH response.
- Collaborate with Centre of Excellence teams, regional and country offices to develop and implement emergency WASH plans.
- Deliver technical assistance to country offices for acute emergency response and disease prevention programmes.
- Support the implementation of WASH activities under the Pandemic Fund project.
- Contribute to strategic support, programme development and implementation for humanitarian and resilience initiatives.
Required profile
- Senior‑level professional (P‑4) with extensive experience in WASH, humanitarian response, and public health emergencies.
- Proven ability to work with multi‑disciplinary teams across global and field contexts.
- Strong analytical and planning skills for emergency programme design.
