Commercial Director

About the role

Hyatt Regency Nairobi Westlands is seeking a Commercial Director to join its executive leadership team and lead the hotel's commercial strategy and performance. The role covers an integrated strategy for revenue, market share, profitability and long-term value across Kenya, Africa and key international markets, working closely with the General Manager and the executive team.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute an integrated commercial strategy and annual business plan, covering Sales, Marketing, Revenue Management, Distribution, Partnerships and Customer Strategy
• Drive growth in total revenue, RevPAR, market share, room nights, business mix, profitability and customer acquisition, partnering with Revenue Management
• Lead the Sales function, grow the share of the Kenyan corporate and MICE markets and build relationships with corporate accounts, governments, embassies, NGOs, TMCs and consortia
• Set marketing direction, strengthen the hotel's digital presence and build partnerships with tourism organizations, airlines, corporates and media
• Optimize distribution across direct, digital, GDS, OTA, consortia, corporate and trade channels
• Lead commercial budgeting and forecasting, monitor performance against budget and forecast, and present clear commercial analysis
• Build and coach a high-performing commercial team, including a succession pipeline, and collaborate with Operations, Rooms, F&B, Revenue Management and Finance
• Represent the hotel at industry events, trade shows and roadshows, and lead strategic account reviews and negotiations
