Barista Mixologist

About the role

Le Café Jeu is launching a new board‑game café in The Hub Karen, Nairobi, and seeks a versatile Barista Mixologist to support both front‑of‑house and back‑of‑house operations. The ideal candidate will blend coffee expertise with cocktail creativity while delivering friendly, prompt service.

Key responsibilities

• Operate both the barista counter and the mixology bar, adapting to rush periods and shift needs.
• Prepare hot and cold coffee drinks, teas, signature mocktails, cocktails, and seasonal beverages according to recipe standards.
• Calibrate, clean, and maintain espresso machines, grinders, blenders, draft systems, and bar tools daily.
• Monitor and restock beans, dairy, syrups, garnishes, spirits, fresh juices, and glassware at both stations.
• Maintain strict sanitation standards, assist guests with drink recommendations, and keep the service counter attractive and organized.
• Collaborate with the service team to ensure seamless communication, timely order delivery, and excellent guest satisfaction.

Required profile

• 2–3 years of experience as a Barista, Bartender, or Mixologist in a fast‑paced environment.
• Certification or formal training in barista skills or mixology/bartending is preferred.
• Strong skills in espresso extraction, latte art, and cocktail/mocktail preparation.
• Passionate about interacting with guests, remembering preferences, and creating a welcoming atmosphere.
