Communications Coordinator – Nairobi

About the role

Legal Action Worldwide (LAW) is seeking a Communications Coordinator to amplify its voice across East Africa. Based in the Nairobi office, you will work closely with programme managers on the ground and the Communications Manager in Geneva to raise LAW’s profile and showcase its human‑rights work.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain an activity calendar for programmes in Somalia, Ethiopia, South Sudan and Sudan, covering social media, website, press releases, events and awards.
• Produce high‑quality, survivor‑centred content for social media platforms, the website and other communication channels.
• Monitor, track and evaluate media coverage and campaign indicators to maximise impact.
• Coordinate preparation of key communication materials and support regional storytelling initiatives.
• Collaborate with partners, hub offices and stakeholders to strengthen regional communications networks.

Required profile

• Legal right to work in Kenya.
• Passionate about human‑rights advocacy and gender‑competent, trauma‑informed communication.
• Experience in coordinating communications for NGOs or similar organisations.
• Ability to extract impact information and translate it into compelling narratives.
