Coordinator of Volunteers

About the role

The Coordinator of Volunteers is a part-time hybrid position based in Nairobi County, Kenya, with flexibility for some work from home. The coordinator recruits, orients and coordinates volunteers for Innovation Hub activities and programs, scheduling shifts, keeping accurate records and making sure volunteers understand their responsibilities and have the support they need.

Key responsibilities

• Recruit, onboard, train and supervise volunteers for Innovation Hub programs
• Schedule volunteer shifts and maintain accurate records
• Organize volunteer training and support community outreach events
• Serve as the main point of contact for volunteer-related inquiries
• Collaborate with program leads to align volunteer efforts with training schedules and community initiatives
• Evaluate volunteer engagement regularly to improve the volunteer experience

Required profile

• Experience in community outreach, planning and promotion of activities that engage local communities and potential volunteers
• Ability to work in a hybrid environment, combining on-site coordination in Nairobi County with remote administrative tasks
• Diploma or degree in social sciences, education, community development or a related field is preferred
• Experience in community development, nonprofit work or educational programs is an advantage
