Finance & Programme Associate Consultant (Remote)

About the role

UN Women is seeking a Finance and Programme Associate Consultant to support the Ending Violence against Women (EVAW) ACT programme. Working remotely, the consultant will ensure financial operations align with UN Women policies and contribute to effective programme delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Implement financial strategies for the EVAW programme in compliance with UN Women rules and regulations.
• Review, verify and record financial transactions, taking corrective actions when needed.
• Monitor financial exception reports, investigate anomalies and provide recommendations.
• Prepare and draft financial status reports, including cost, expenditure and exchange‑rate information.
• Follow up on audit recommendations and support implementation of corrective actions.
• Collect, verify and present data for budgeting and resource planning.
• Collaborate with regional programme coordinators, the EU Financial Specialist, and HQ finance teams.

Required profile

• University degree in finance, accounting, economics or a related field.
• Professional experience in financial management within an international organization or donor‑funded programme.
• Strong knowledge of UN financial regulations, internal controls and reporting standards.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting and coordinate with multi‑regional teams.
