Global Head of Portfolio Performance

About the role

Burn is seeking a Global Head of Portfolio Performance to lead credit portfolio strategy, risk management and debt recovery across its operations in Kenya. The role reports to senior leadership and works closely with commercial, finance and customer experience teams to balance growth with credit quality.

Key responsibilities

• Own the full credit lifecycle – assessment, onboarding, repayment, collections and recovery – in line with company policies and investor standards.
• Define and execute portfolio strategy, aligning commercial, CX, finance and strategy functions.
• Design, maintain and improve credit risk frameworks, scoring models, approval limits and collection standards.
• Lead data‑driven reporting, risk dashboards and proactive mitigation to protect investor returns.
• Monitor portfolio health across countries, identify under‑performing markets or agents, and drive targeted interventions such as repayment campaigns or restructuring.
• Conduct detailed credit performance analysis, develop delinquency and repayment models, and recommend risk mitigation actions.
• Design and implement comprehensive debt recovery and collection strategies to reduce write‑offs and meet finance targets.
• Partner with regional and country teams to ensure consistent performance discipline and accountability.
