Loans Officer – Nairobi

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Loans Officer to join our team in Nairobi. The role involves managing the end‑to‑end loan lifecycle, from application review to disbursement and collection, while providing excellent customer service to our borrowers.

Key responsibilities

• Review loan applications, verify documentation and conduct due‑diligence before approving disbursement.
• Process approved loans for payment ensuring compliance with internal policies.
• Maintain ongoing communication with borrowers, delivering high‑quality customer support and building strong relationships.
• Monitor loan portfolios to ensure repayments are received on schedule.
• Prepare and present daily, weekly and monthly collection and portfolio performance reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Business, Finance or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years’ experience in micro‑finance, lending institutions or SACCOs.
• Proven background in credit, loan or debt management.
• Ability to handle high‑volume calls and meet monthly targets.
• Self‑driven, detail‑oriented and capable of working with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication skills and a confident, outgoing personality.
