Manager, Transactional Banking & Customer Value Management

About the role

The Manager, Transactional Banking & Customer Value Management will lead the end‑to‑end transactional banking franchise and the Customer Value Management (CVM) strategy for Absa Group in Kenya. The role is responsible for driving revenue growth, increasing active customer penetration and enhancing lifetime value across retail and business banking.

Key responsibilities

• Own and deliver transactional banking revenue and profitability targets, including account services, payments (domestic, cross‑border and value‑added), cash management and transaction‑led FX.
• Define and execute a multi‑year growth strategy aligned with retail and business banking objectives, positioning the bank as the primary operating account for customers.
• Optimize product economics, margins and cost‑to‑serve while managing strategic partnerships and value‑creation initiatives.
• Lead the CVM framework across the full customer lifecycle – acquisition, onboarding, activation, engagement, retention and monetisation.
• Translate customer behaviour and data insights into commercial outcomes while ensuring regulatory, risk and operational resilience.
• Collaborate with lending, savings, insurance and investment teams to integrate transactional propositions with broader product suites.

Required profile

• Senior‑level professional with at least 5 years of experience in transactional banking, payments or related financial services.
• Proven track record of managing P&L responsibility and delivering revenue growth.
• Strong understanding of customer lifecycle management and data‑driven decision making.
• Experience in developing and executing multi‑year banking strategies.
• Ability to work with cross‑functional teams and external partners.
