Monitoring, Evaluation & Impact Senior Officer

About the role

The Monitoring, Evaluation & Impact Senior Officer will support the coordination of SHF’s monitoring, evaluation and learning systems at country and global levels, ensuring data collection, analysis and reporting to drive evidence‑based, results‑oriented programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Support implementation of the SHF monitoring, evaluation and learning framework aligned with results frameworks and national priorities.
• Assist in harmonising indicators with global targets and national development plans.
• Review and improve monitoring and evaluation tools, guidelines and methodologies across the programme portfolio.
• Provide quantitative and qualitative impact analysis and manage the central impact database.
• Coordinate with contract managers, partners and service providers to ensure timely collection and validation of performance data.
• Conduct field visits and partner monitoring to verify programme delivery and results.
• Lead outcome and impact assessments for sanitation and menstrual health market‑based approaches, including private‑sector engagement.
• Manage external evaluations and research studies to generate evidence on effective interventions.
• Synthesize findings into analytical reports, dashboards and briefs for donors and government partners.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, economics, development studies, statistics, public administration, public policy, evaluation or related field; Master’s degree is a plus.
• Minimum two years of progressively responsible experience in monitoring, evaluation, research or results‑based M&E frameworks, preferably in international development or humanitarian settings.
• Proven experience applying both quantitative and qualitative methods and working with diverse indicator types (output, outcome, impact, process, perception).
• Experience tracking project targets, verifying data, managing impact databases and quality‑assuring performance reports.
• Demonstrated ability to produce analytical reports, dashboards and briefs for technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Experience facilitating learning, adaptive management and integrating equity, inclusion and sustainability into M&E work.
