Professor - Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT)

About the role

The University is seeking a full‑time Professor to teach and develop the Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) programme at both undergraduate and graduate levels. The successful candidate will join a vibrant academic community in Nairobi, contributing to research, curriculum design and student mentorship.

Key responsibilities

• Teach and assess undergraduate and graduate courses in Marriage and Family Therapy.
• Mentor and support students in academic and career development.
• Participate in curriculum development and program assessment to keep offerings current and marketable.
• Supervise undergraduate and graduate research projects, theses and dissertations.
• Conduct scholarly research in the candidate’s area of expertise.
• Provide service to the university, professional bodies and the wider community.
• Perform any additional duties assigned by the institution.

Required profile

• Earned Doctoral degree (PhD, PsyD or equivalent) in Psychology with a specialization relevant to Marriage and Family Therapy from an accredited university.
• Prior teaching experience at undergraduate, postgraduate or doctoral level.
• Publication record meeting CUE Standards & Guidelines (2014) or equivalent.
• Registration with the Counselors and Psychologists Board of Kenya (or other relevant professional body).
• Experience supervising postgraduate students is an advantage.
