About the role
The Head of School (British Curriculum) at Kitengela International School will lead academic and cultural transformation, delivering outstanding outcomes across Early Years to A‑Levels and ensuring university progression for every student.
Key responsibilities
- Lead implementation and development of the British Curriculum (Early Years, Primary, Secondary, IGCSE, A‑Levels) and achieve target pass rates.
- Supervise university guidance programmes to secure at least one confirmed university acceptance for every graduate.
- Build, mentor and retain a high‑performing teaching team, targeting 90%+ A/B staff and low turnover.
- Drive student retention (>90%) and an exceptional parent experience, including a vibrant extra‑curricular programme.
- Collaborate with the Director Schools' Performance and School Partners (Marketing, Finance, HR) to align strategy, embed management systems and support sustainable growth.
Required profile
- Proven experience as Head of School, Deputy Head or Senior Academic Leader in a reputable British‑curriculum international school.
- Deep understanding of the British curriculum framework from Early Years to A‑Levels.
- Master’s degree in Education, Educational Leadership or related field; teaching qualification required.
- Demonstrated track record of driving academic achievement, university placement success and staff development.
Required skills
- Instructional leadership with learner‑centred pedagogy.
- Experience with curriculum standards (Cambridge / Pearson Edexcel).
- Ability to work in a dynamic, matrix‑style organisation.
