About the role
Finn Church Aid Kenya is seeking a Project Officer to support a TVET (Technical and Vocational Education and Training) project that aims to improve the quality and effectiveness of vocational education in Kenya. The role focuses on modern teaching technologies, individualized learning, and competency‑based education to boost youth employability and create a sustainable model of quality vocational training.
Key responsibilities
- Collaborate with Finnish educational institutions and local partners to implement project activities in line with defined goals.
- Facilitate coordination among government bodies, educational institutions, private sector partners and project participants.
- Support capacity‑building interventions for tutors and TVET stakeholders, emphasizing competency‑based training and hybrid learning approaches.
- Monitor project activities, outcomes and impacts, ensuring alignment with indicators and identifying improvement areas.
- Prepare weekly, quarterly and annual reports to communicate updates and results.
- Strengthen partner safeguarding systems and conduct sensitisation sessions on the Complaint Response Mechanism.
- Represent the livelihood programme at key events and secure partnerships that provide work opportunities for trained youth.
Required profile
- Proven experience in coordinating multi‑stakeholder projects, preferably in the education or development sector.
- Ability to work closely with international and local partners to achieve project objectives.
- Strong monitoring and reporting skills, with attention to project indicators and timelines.
- Knowledge of safeguarding practices and experience delivering sensitisation sessions.
- Capacity to represent the organisation at events and build strategic partnerships.
