About the role
Busara Center is seeking a Thematic Expert to lead gender‑responsive evaluation and inclusive programming focused on financial inclusion and MSME development. The role will guide disaggregated analysis across gender, refugee status and disability, ensuring safeguarding standards are upheld throughout fieldwork.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct quantitative and qualitative disaggregated analysis on inclusion outcomes for each review.
- Design and oversee gender‑responsive, trauma‑informed interview guides (IDI, FGD, KII) tailored to refugees, young women and persons with disabilities.
- Supervise key informant interviews, in‑depth interviews and single‑sex focus groups, ensuring appropriate language, location and logistics.
- Act as the primary safeguarding focal point, managing informed consent, risk identification and referral pathways during data collection.
- Assess how implementing partners integrate gender, disability, and refugee protection into program design and delivery.
- Analyse system‑level changes affecting inclusion of young women and marginalized groups, highlighting unintended effects.
- Provide training and briefings to research coordinators and field officers on gender‑responsive and safeguarding practices.
Required profile
- Demonstrated expertise in gender‑responsive evaluation and inclusive programming.
- Experience working with structurally excluded groups such as refugees, young women and persons with disabilities.
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding standards and trauma‑informed data collection methods.
- Ability to lead qualitative research design and supervise field teams.
