About the role
UNICEF seeks a consultant to develop a practical strategy for engagement in fragile, violent and conflict‑affected settings. The assignment will produce a strategic framework to guide programming, advocacy, partnerships, resource mobilisation and technical support.
Key responsibilities
- Analyse evidence, country experience and existing UNICEF guidance to define comparative advantage and resilience‑building approaches.
- Develop a strategic framework covering programming, advocacy, partnerships, resource mobilisation and technical support across the humanitarian‑development‑peace nexus.
- Translate complex analysis into clear, user‑friendly strategic guidance for headquarters, regional and country offices.
Required profile
- Master’s degree in international development, social sciences, economics, political science, peace and conflict studies, humanitarian affairs, public policy, resilience, governance, child rights or related field.
- At least 8 years of progressively responsible experience in international development, humanitarian action, peacebuilding, resilience, fragility, conflict prevention or systems strengthening.
- Strong understanding of fragility, violence, conflict dynamics and their impact on children and service systems.
Required skills
- Ability to produce strategic guidance and synthesize complex analysis.
- Strong consultation and facilitation skills with diverse stakeholders.
- Excellent analytical, synthesis and writing abilities.
