Accountant – Bookkeeping & Supplier Management

About the role

We are seeking a hands‑on Accountant to support day‑to‑day financial operations for a global animal nutrition and agribusiness company based in Nairobi. The role focuses on bookkeeping, reconciliations, invoicing, supplier management and documentation related to imports and customs clearance.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily bookkeeping and accounting transactions.
• Prepare and maintain accurate bank, supplier and customer reconciliations.
• Process invoices, receipts and payment documentation.
• Handle supplier accounts, statements and payment follow‑ups.
• Support accounting documentation for imports and customs clearance.
• Maintain organised financial records and filing systems.
• Assist with accounts payable and receivable processes.
• Track outstanding invoices, payments and supplier balances.
• Support month‑end closing and basic financial reporting.
• Identify gaps in accounting processes and introduce simple controls.
• Collaborate with operations, logistics and management to capture financial information.
• Support audits and provide required documentation.

Required profile

• Approximately three years of relevant accounting experience.
• Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related field.
• Progress toward CPA or ACCA qualification.
• Strong hands‑on experience in bookkeeping, reconciliations and invoicing.
• Good understanding of supplier management and accounts payable/receivable.
• Familiarity with customs clearance and import documentation.
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
• Experience improving accounting processes, filing systems and controls.
• Ability to work independently in a hands‑on environment.
