Adjunct Lecturer in Pharmaceutical & Medicinal Chemistry

About the role

The University seeks an Adjunct Faculty member to teach Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Medicinal Chemistry within its Bachelor of Pharmacy programme. This full‑time position involves delivering both theoretical lectures and hands‑on laboratory sessions.

Key responsibilities

• Teach and assess Pharmaceutical Chemistry/Medicinal Chemistry courses.
• Conduct laboratory and practical sessions covering synthetic medicinal chemistry, drug design, and analytical characterization.
• Develop and update course materials, laboratory manuals, and digital learning resources.
• Participate in curriculum development, academic program review, and accreditation processes.
• Mentor students in academic, professional, and research development.
• Perform additional duties assigned by the Dean.

Required profile

• B.Pharmacy, BSc in Pharmacy, or related discipline from an accredited institution.
• M.Pharmacy or Master’s in Pharmaceutical/Medicinal Chemistry or related field.
• PhD in a related discipline is a distinct advantage.
• Minimum three years of university teaching experience in Medicinal Chemistry or related areas.
• Professional registration with the relevant body where applicable.

Required skills

• Proficiency with HPLC, LC‑MS, NMR, and IR analytical techniques.
• Practical experience in synthetic organic chemistry and compound characterization.
• Familiarity with computational chemistry or molecular modelling tools.
• Ability to integrate technology‑enhanced learning methods.
