Business Manager – Africa & Europe (Water Treatment)

About the role

GTI is seeking a Business Manager (or Business Assistant Manager) to lead and grow its Water Treatment (WT) business across Africa and Europe. The role focuses on revenue growth, market expansion, and strategic customer relationships while ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards.

Key responsibilities

• Identify key industrial, potable, and wastewater treatment customers in Africa, Europe and globally for GTI coagulant and flocculant chemicals.
• Develop business plans, sales forecasts and budgets for short‑term (1 year) and long‑term (3‑5 years) horizons.
• Achieve annual revenue and earnings‑before‑tax targets, targeting ~12% YoY EBT growth.
• Build a network of consultants and advisors to uncover new business opportunities.
• Promote GTI’s brand through trade shows, conferences, website announcements and social media.
• Lead and manage the sales team, fostering strong relationships with clients, suppliers and stakeholders.
• Leverage distributor and agent connections to create competitive advantages.
• Gather market data, analyse trends and recommend growth strategies, including distribution centers or manufacturing facilities with a ~3‑year payback.
• Hire, retain and manage a high‑performing team for the WT business.
• Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare reports, forecasts, competitive intelligence and strategic business plans for senior management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or graduate degree in Science, Engineering or Business.
• 2‑5 years of experience in water‑treatment chemicals, business development, sales or operations management.
• Strong analytical thinking, market knowledge of the water‑treatment industry and ability to work independently or in cross‑functional teams.
• Self‑motivated, result‑oriented and comfortable working with diverse cultural backgrounds.
