Chief Executive Officer – SACCO

About the role

The Chief Executive Officer will lead the SACCO’s strategy, regulatory compliance and overall operations, driving growth and ensuring sustainable performance for the Co-operative Bank of Kenya’s SACCO division.

Key responsibilities

• Set and execute the SACCO’s vision, mission and strategic objectives, translating them into measurable business plans.
• Advise the Board on strategy, financial performance, risk, market trends and growth opportunities.
• Oversee budgeting, liquidity, capital adequacy, investment and financial reporting.
• Ensure compliance with the Cooperative Societies Act, SACCO Societies Act, SASRA Act and other regulations.
• Lead digital transformation, cybersecurity and technology initiatives to improve member experience.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or related field; CPA‑K registration required.
• At least 7 years of relevant professional experience, including 10 years in senior management or executive leadership.
• Proven experience in a SACCO, cooperative, bank or regulated financial institution.
• Strong knowledge of Kenya’s cooperative and financial regulatory environment.
