Clinical Officer (Locum)

About the role

Penda Health is seeking compassionate Clinical Officers to join our network of medical centres on a locum basis. You will work independently, delivering high‑quality outpatient care while following evidence‑based protocols and receiving support from clinical mentors.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including history taking, physical examination, and prescription of treatment.
• Order, interpret, and communicate investigation results to patients.
• Manage emergencies in the clinic and refer cases beyond scope of practice.
• Perform minor surgical procedures according to service schedules.
• Document all observations, vitals, treatments, and procedures accurately in patient charts.
• Provide health education and counseling through preventive health talks.
• Participate in continuous professional development and adhere to Penda’s clinical protocols.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of work experience after internship.
• Registered with the Clinical Officers Council of Kenya with a valid practicing licence.
• Diploma, Higher Diploma or BSc in Clinical Medicine.
• Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
