Co-Founder - Head of Credit & Structured Finance

About the role

We are looking for a Co‑Founder to lead Credit and Structured Finance at NuruFi, a clean‑energy credit engine operating in emerging markets. You will own the credit function, build the underwriting methodology from scratch, and shape the financing strategy as the company scales.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement the credit scorecard, risk framework and decision‑making process for unrated business payers.
• Structure deal terms, including limits, tenors, deposits and collection waterfalls, and coordinate legal documentation with local counsel.
• Develop portfolio servicing, monitoring, early‑warning alerts and workout/recovery procedures.
• Build a performance dataset to continuously refine the underwriting model.
• Drive the eventual raise of a debt facility, managing relationships with debt funds, DFIs and guarantors.
• Participate in company strategy, investor fundraising, board discussions and scaling initiatives.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience underwriting SME, trade, receivables or working‑capital credit in Africa or other emerging markets.
• Willingness to assess deals personally, chase payments and manage early‑stage defaults.
• Ability to build credit structures from spreadsheets to scalable systems.
• Strong analytical communication focused on numbers and risk.
