Director of Sales

About the role

We are seeking an exceptional Director of Sales to lead the Sales function of the Hyatt Regency Nairobi Westlands. This high‑impact, strategic leadership role is responsible for driving revenue performance across local, regional and global markets.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, refine and execute an annual sales strategy aligned with hotel goals and brand standards.
• Drive performance across corporate, MICE, leisure, governmental, diplomatic, travel trade, airline crews and group segments.
• Analyse market trends, competitor performance and demand patterns to identify opportunities.
• Lead the sales team to meet revenue, room‑night and market‑share targets locally, regionally and internationally.
• Grow the hotel’s share of the Kenyan corporate and MICE market and expand into East, West, Central and Southern Africa.
• Build and maintain relationships with key accounts, embassies, NGOs, multinational corporations and strategic partners.
• Mentor and motivate the sales team, set KPIs, monitor productivity and drive a high‑performance culture.
• Collaborate with Marketing, Revenue Management, Reservations and F&B to ensure integrated commercial strategies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Hotel Management or a related field.
• Minimum 5–7 years progressive hotel sales experience, including at least 2 years as a Director of Sales in an international brand.
• Strong commercial expertise in Kenya, Africa and international markets with a proven track record of revenue growth.
• Established network within corporate, diplomatic, NGO and MICE segments across Kenya and the region.

Required skills

• High proficiency in CRM systems.
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
• Experience with digital sales platforms.
