Finance Consultant (Part-Time, Hybrid – Kenya)

About the role

Khalsa Aid is seeking a Finance Consultant to provide part‑time support to the Chief Financial Officer. This hybrid role (remote with occasional in‑person meetings in Kenya) offers the chance to contribute to a global humanitarian charity while working flexibly three days a week.

Key responsibilities

• Support the CFO in overseeing day‑to‑day financial operations and strategic finance activities.
• Lead and support audit processes, ensuring timely preparation of audit schedules and compliance.
• Oversee and review financial records, controls, and reporting accuracy.
• Provide guidance on financial management and improvements to finance processes and systems.
• Assist in coordinating finance department activities and workflows.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, donor requirements, and relevant financial regulations.
• Prepare financial reports and analysis for senior leadership.
• Contribute to strengthening financial governance and accountability across the organisation.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (e.g., ACCA, CPA or equivalent).
• 3–5 years of experience in a finance role.
• Strong experience in audit processes and financial controls.
• Experience managing or supporting a finance department or team.
• Understanding of or experience in the humanitarian/NGO sector.
• Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently in a hybrid/remote environment and manage competing priorities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Legal right to work in Kenya.

What we offer

• Monthly salary ranging from Kshs 70,000 to 100,000.
