Finance & Supply Chain Lead

About the role

Rift Innovation Lab is seeking a Finance & Supply Chain Lead to own and develop the business operations that keep its engineering team moving. This foundational hire will start hands‑on across finance, procurement, and logistics, and will grow into a senior leadership position as the organisation scales.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day finance processes including bookkeeping, expense tracking, payment processing and basic financial reporting.
• Follow up on outstanding invoices, maintain a clean AR/AP position and support budgeting and cash‑flow tracking for engineering projects.
• Liaise with external accountants and auditors for statutory compliance.
• Build lightweight systems and documentation for finance and operations, flagging and resolving operational bottlenecks.
• Oversee basic people operations for a lean team.
• Track inbound/outbound shipments, handle customs and import processes where relevant.
• Procure components, materials and equipment needed for engineering work and maintain inventory records for critical items.

Required profile

• 3–6 years of experience in finance, operations, or a hybrid commercial/ops role, preferably in a small company or startup.
• Comfortable with core bookkeeping and accounting concepts; CPA or similar certification preferred.
• Proven ability to wear multiple hats and build processes from scratch.
