Head of Private Banking & Wealth Management

About the role

The Head of Private Banking & Wealth Management will define, execute and commercialise the Affluent Clients strategy, driving client growth, market leadership and sustainable value creation for Standard Bank Group.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement the in‑country Affluent Clients strategy to increase market share and assets under management.
• Champion seamless client journeys and lead transformation and digital enablement initiatives.
• Collaborate across business segments and stakeholders to embed a compelling affluent value proposition.
• Enhance client engagement, deepen relationships and deliver superior commercial outcomes.
• Oversee credit application evaluation, risk management and governance compliance.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in private banking and wealth management with a proven record of client acquisition, sales and relationship management for high‑net‑worth and ultra‑high‑net‑worth clients.
• Demonstrated success in driving business growth, expanding assets under management and achieving revenue and profitability targets.
• Strong commercial acumen, ability to interpret market trends, assess risks and make strategic decisions.
• Deep knowledge of banking, investment, lending, fiduciary and advisory products.
• Proven leadership in building high‑performing, client‑centric teams and leading organisational change and digital transformation.
