Litigation Advocate (Full-time, Homabay County)

About the role

AKO ADVOCATES LLP is seeking a full‑time Litigation Advocate to join its Homabay County office. The successful candidate will manage a diverse litigation portfolio, from drafting court documents to representing clients in court and negotiating settlements.

Key responsibilities

• Draft pleadings, motions, submissions and legal opinions for civil and commercial matters.
• Conduct comprehensive legal research and analyse case law, statutes and regulations.
• Attend court sessions, client meetings and negotiations, and liaise with opposing counsel, regulators and court officials.
• Maintain accurate case files, timelines and records from inception to resolution.
• Collaborate with senior lawyers on case strategy and contribute to the firm’s knowledge base.

Required profile

• Admission to practice law in Kenya and good standing with the Law Society of Kenya.
• LL.B degree from a recognised institution, completion of the Kenya School of Law and a valid practising certificate.
• Demonstrated litigation experience, preferably in civil or commercial matters.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, strong organisational and time‑management abilities.
• High professional integrity, ethical judgment and respect for client confidentiality.
