Mid-Level Software Developer (Mobile & Back-end)

About the role

We are looking for a mid‑level software developer who will design, build and maintain both backend services and Android mobile features for Pezesha’s digital lending platform. Working closely with the tech lead, product, QA and engineering teams, you will deliver secure, scalable APIs and reliable mobile experiences that power our core loan management and Patascore products.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and optimise backend modules such as the Loan Management System, Notification Service and Authentication Service using PHP (Laravel).
• Design, implement and document RESTful APIs that meet financial‑regulation and data‑protection standards.
• Maintain and enhance the Android application, fixing bugs, improving UI/UX and adding new features with Kotlin or Java.
• Optimise database queries, implement caching, and monitor performance of PostgreSQL/MySQL databases.
• Produce regular service usage and performance reports and keep technical documentation up to date.
• Participate in sprint planning, code reviews, deployments and on‑call rotation for production incidents.
• Mentor junior developers and share technical knowledge across the team.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
• 3–5 years of professional software development experience.
• Proven experience building backend services with PHP (Laravel) and Android apps with Kotlin/Java.
• Strong understanding of RESTful API design and relational databases (PostgreSQL or MySQL).
• Familiarity with Git, Docker, CI/CD pipelines and cloud platforms (GCP, AWS or Azure) is a plus.
